Workplace AI reference
AI Safety and Policy Reference for Work
Safe AI reference material should explain when AI is useful, what must stay out of prompts, and when a human or company policy needs to guide the work.
The baseline safety habits
Every employee should learn a few habits before using AI on workplace material.
- Remove private or sensitive details before using an AI tool unless the organization has approved that use.
- Review company AI, privacy, confidentiality, records, and data-use policies.
- Treat AI output as draft support, not a final authority.
- Verify facts, sources, calculations, policy claims, and decisions before use.
High-risk workflows need gates
Legal, HR, finance, healthcare, IT security, safety, leadership, employee data, customer data, and regulated information require stronger boundaries than everyday message rewriting.
- Use approved tools and approved data handling processes.
- Require learning checks or submissions for safety modules.
- Make review ownership visible before the learner copies a prompt.
- Do not use AI to replace professional judgment, legal advice, HR decisions, financial approval, security incident handling, or safety procedures.
